Notice of Availability of Educational Services to Children With Disabilities
Pursuant to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Carteret County Public School System attempts to locate, identify and evaluate every child with a disability residing in Carteret County who qualifies for Section 504 accommodations or services and to offer such child a free appropriate public education. Children eligible for Section 504 accommodations or services include those who have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity. If you suspect or know that your child has a disability and may require or would benefit from Section 504 accommodations as part of a free appropriate public education, or if you would like additional information, please contact your child's teacher if your child is enrolled in the Carteret County Public School System, and if not enrolled, contact the Department of Exceptional Children's Programs, Carteret County Public Schools, 107 Safrit Drive, Beaufort, NC 28516, telephone (252) 728-4583, extension 1146.
